Communications International Receives Contract Award
for Charlotte County Radio System
PUNTA GORDA, FL, April 10, 2017 - Communications International (Ci) is pleased to announce its contract award by Charlotte County, Florida to supply and install a new Project 25 Phase 1 and Phase 2 compliant public safety radio system.
The County's new radio system, which replaces its current end-of-life system, features a turnkey, 7-site 700 MHz linear simulcast design using the latest Harris P25 Phase 1 and Phase 2 technology.

DEMOGRAPHICS: Johnston County is comprised of the cities/towns of Smithfield, Clayton, Benson, Selma, Four Oaks, Princeton, Pine Level, Archer Lodge, Wilson’s Mills, Micro, and West Smithfield. The County’s public safety radio system includes the sheriff’s office along with police, fire, and emergency management services.
Together they serve a population of over 177,000 residents across an 800 sq. mile area. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: A loyal Ci customer since the 1990s, Johnston County once again chose Ci to assist them in their migration from a Harris EDACS radio system to a state-of-the-art P25 Phase 2 system.

Communications International Completes Installation of Upgraded Radio System at Tampa International Airport
TAMPA, FLA., June 15, 2016 – Communications International (Ci), a leading supplier of customized communications systems and services for the public safety, transit and utility industries, has completed installation of an upgraded radio system at Tampa International Airport (TPA). The new system provides interoperability with local agencies and enhances inbuilding coverage to isolated areas throughout the facility.
Ci was contracted by the Hillsborough Aviation Authority to replace the existing UHF police radio system at TPA. The project included a cooperative effort with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office to expand their Harris 700 MHz P25 radio system with a simulcast site at TPA, and Harris Symphony consoles to support their dispatch operations. In addition, critical areas within the airport were enhanced with a TX/RX bi‐directional amplifier (BDA) and distributed antenna system (DAS) to ensure adequate RF coverage throughout the facility.
